Description
general view
general view of sculpture
Cranbrook version of the fountain does not include the figure of Orpheus in the center as seen in the original fountain in Stockholm, Sweden. The Cranbrook version of the fountain features eight figures in a circle with Milles asserting them as “people listening to music.” Beethoven is identified by his raised arms in despair that due to his deafness he could not listed to the music Orpheus is playing.
